NEET PG Admissions: Percentile Replaced by Candidate Rank for Counselling

TV9 Hindi · education

NMC is set to replace the percentile system with candidate ranks for NEET PG and NEET SS admissions. This significant change aims to streamline the counselling process and ensure a more merit-based selection. The decision, theoretically approved by the NMC, was informed to the Supreme Court by a 12-member expert committee. The committee's report also cautioned against excessively lowering qualifying cutoffs, emphasizing the need to maintain the integrity of postgraduate medical education and competitive exams.
