Karnataka CM Announces ₹100 Crore For Gandhi Memorial In Belagavi

Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has announced an allocation of ₹100 crore to construct a Gandhi Smaraka in Belagavi, a city where Mahatma Gandhi presided over the Congress session in 1924. This historic session was the only one where the Father of the Nation served as president. The funds will be set aside in the upcoming State Budget. Additionally, Gandhi Memorial Pillars will be erected at all places visited by Gandhiji across Karnataka, with the first pillar unveiled in Bengaluru.
