Kawal Tiger Reserve Has Prey But No Tigers

Kawal Tiger Reserve in northern Telangana, situated near the Godavari river, boasts abundant prey like spotted deer and sambar. Despite its ideal location connecting major tiger landscapes in Maharashtra and Chhattisgarh, the reserve currently has no resident tigers. This situation highlights a critical conservation challenge, as a healthy prey base is essential for supporting a tiger population.

तेलंगाना के उत्तरी हिस्से में, गोदावरी नदी के पास स्थित कवल टाइगर रिजर्व में चीतल और सांभर जैसे शिकार की भरमार है। महाराष्ट्र और छत्तीसगढ़ के बड़े टाइगर इलाकों को जोड़ने के लिए यह जगह एकदम सही है, लेकिन फिलहाल यहां कोई बाघ नहीं रहता। यह एक बड़ी चिंता का विषय है, क्योंकि बाघों की आबादी के लिए शिकार का अच्छा आधार होना बहुत ज़रूरी है।
