The Ministry of Power has issued new guidelines for compensating landowners for land acquired for inter-state transmission lines. The framework establishes a process to determine land value when the prevailing market rate exceeds the official circle rate. These guidelines aim to resolve disputes that often delay crucial transmission projects. A Market Rate Committee, headed by the District Magistrate, will determine land value using IBBI-empanelled valuers when market rates are higher than circle rates.
