NMC Clarifies Medical Education Standards Unchanged After Rule Denotification

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has clarified that denotifying the Maintenance of Standards of Medical Education Regulations, 2023, will not dilute existing medical education standards. The move aims to eliminate overlapping regulatory procedures between different boards within the NMC. The Undergraduate Medical Education Board and Postgraduate Medical Education Board will continue to set academic standards, while the Medical Assessment and Rating Board will conduct inspections. Annual Disclosure Reports remain mandatory for medical colleges, ensuring continued oversight and accountability.

नेशनल मेडिकल कमीशन (एनएमसी) ने स्पष्ट किया है कि मेंटेनेंस ऑफ स्टैंडर्ड्स ऑफ मेडिकल एजुकेशन रेगुलेशंस, 2023 को अधिसूचित न करने से मौजूदा चिकित्सा शिक्षा के मानकों में कोई कमी नहीं आएगी। इस कदम का उद्देश्य एनएमसी के विभिन्न बोर्डों के बीच नियामक प्रक्रियाओं के ओवरलैप को खत्म करना है। अंडरग्रेजुएट मेडिकल एजुकेशन बोर्ड और पोस्टग्रेजुएट मेडिकल एजुकेशन बोर्ड अकादमिक मानक तय करना जारी रखेंगे, जबकि मेडिकल असेसमेंट एंड रेटिंग बोर्ड निरीक्षण करेगा। मेडिकल कॉलेजों के लिए वार्षिक डिस्क्लोजर रिपोर्ट अनिवार्य बनी रहेगी, जिससे निरंतर निगरानी और जवाबदेही सुनिश्चित होगी।
