Idaho Couple's Land Ownership Claim Reopened After Supreme Court Ruling
Times of India · top
An Idaho couple who have farmed beside a barbed-wire fence since 1979 have been given a new chance to claim 5.95 acres of disputed land. The state Supreme Court overturned a previous ruling that favoured Idaho, reopening the ownership claim. The couple, Greg and Leah Sempel, believed the land was theirs based on the fence marking their property boundary for decades. However, the state claimed ownership and sued the couple in 2022. The court's latest decision means the competing claims will be examined again.
