Romania's sole nuclear power plant has been forced to shut down due to falling water levels in the Danube River. The plant typically supplies one-fifth of the country's electricity needs. Efforts were made to prevent a complete shutdown, but the low flow of the Danube made continued operation impossible. डेन्यूब नदी के बहाव से रोमानिया परमाणु संयंत्र बंद

रोमानिया के इकलौते परमाणु बिजली प्लांट को डेन्यूब नदी में पानी का स्तर गिरने की वजह से बंद करना पड़ा है। यह प्लांट देश की एक-पांचवीं बिजली की ज़रूरतें पूरी करता है। पूरी तरह बंद होने से बचाने की कोशिशें हुईं, लेकिन डेन्यूब में पानी कम होने से इसे चलाना मुमकिन नहीं रहा। इस बंद होने से देश की ऊर्जा आपूर्ति और दूसरी जगहों पर निर्भरता को लेकर चिंताएं बढ़ गई हैं।
