CPI Will Defend LDF If Politically Hunted

The Communist Party of India (CPI) has stated it will not stand by if the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] and the Left Democratic Front (LDF) face political persecution. This statement comes amid reports that the Advocate General advised the Kerala government to register an FIR against Opposition leader Pinarayi Vijayan and others in a pay-off case. CPI Keralam State secretary Binoy Viswam indicated the party has a clear stance on the matter.

भारतीय कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी (CPI) ने कहा है कि अगर भारतीय कम्युनिस्ट पार्टी (मार्क्सवादी) [CPI(M)] और लेफ्ट डेमोक्रेटिक फ्रंट (LDF) को राजनीतिक सताया गया तो वे चुप नहीं बैठेंगे। यह बयान ऐसे समय आया है जब खबरें हैं कि एडवोकेट जनरल ने केरल सरकार को पे-ऑफ मामले में विपक्ष के नेता Pinarayi Vijayan और अन्य के खिलाफ FIR दर्ज करने की सलाह दी है। CPI केरल के राज्य सचिव Binoy Viswam ने साफ किया कि पार्टी का इस मामले पर स्पष्ट रुख है।
