केंद्रीय मंत्री अमित शाह ने पंजाब की आप सरकार की कड़ी आलोचना की है। उन्होंने आरोप लगाया कि अनियंत्रित ड्रग्स व्यापार से राज्य अंधेरे में डूब रहा है। उन्होंने उन लोगों की मौत पर प्रकाश डाला जिन्होंने या तो ड्रग्स के खिलाफ आवाज उठाई या उत्पीड़न के कारण आत्महत्या करने को मजबूर हुए। शाह ने कहा कि पंजाब में ड्रग्स की समस्या की जमीनी हकीकत रिपोर्ट की गई बातों से कहीं ज्यादा खराब है, और उन्होंने सरकार की निष्क्रियता और इन त्रासदियों के लिए जवाबदेही की कमी पर सवाल उठाया।
