Mall Retail Leasing Drops 38% in Q3 Amid Supply Constraints: Cushman

Retail space leasing in India's top eight cities saw a 38% decline in shopping malls during the July-September quarter, reaching 0.71 million square feet due to supply limitations. Conversely, high-street locations experienced a 33% rise in leasing, totaling 1.51 million square feet. Overall retail space leasing across both malls and high streets fell by nearly 5% compared to the previous year. High streets dominated leasing activities, accounting for 68% of the total. Despite the quarterly dip, total leasing for the January-September period showed a marginal increase.

जुलाई-सितंबर तिमाही में भारत के टॉप आठ शहरों में शॉपिंग मॉल में रिटेल स्पेस की लीजिंग 38% घटकर 0.71 मिलियन वर्ग फुट रह गई, जो सप्लाई की कमी के कारण हुआ। वहीं, हाई-स्ट्रीट लोकेशन में लीजिंग 33% बढ़कर 1.51 मिलियन वर्ग फुट हो गई। मॉल और हाई-स्ट्रीट दोनों में कुल रिटेल स्पेस की लीजिंग पिछले साल की तुलना में लगभग 5% कम हुई। हाई-स्ट्रीट ने लीजिंग गतिविधियों में 68% हिस्सेदारी के साथ दबदबा बनाया। तिमाही में गिरावट के बावजूद, जनवरी-सितंबर अवधि के लिए कुल लीजिंग में मामूली वृद्धि देखी गई।
