Burglars Steal Over Rs 1 Lakh From Krishnagiri Temple Hundi Boxes

Unidentified individuals broke into four of the six hundi boxes at the Sri Madeswaran Temple in Manjamedu, Krishnagiri district, stealing over Rs 1 lakh in cash. The theft occurred in the early hours of a Wednesday, shortly after the temple priest had locked up for the night. Temple authorities reported that the hundis had not been opened for over three months, accumulating a significant amount from recent festivals. Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident, with fingerprint experts collecting evidence from the scene.

अज्ञात लोगों ने कृष्णगिरि जिले के मंजनमेडु स्थित श्री मडेश्वरन मंदिर के छह हundi बक्सों में से चार को तोड़ दिया और ₹1 लाख से ज़्यादा की नकदी चुरा ली। यह चोरी बुधवार तड़के हुई, कुछ ही देर बाद मंदिर के पुजारी ने रात के लिए मंदिर बंद किया था। मंदिर अधिकारियों ने बताया कि हundi तीन महीने से ज़्यादा समय से नहीं खोले गए थे, जिससे हाल के त्योहारों से अच्छी खासी रकम जमा हो गई थी। पुलिस ने मामला दर्ज कर लिया है और घटना की जांच कर रही है, साथ ही फिंगरप्रिंट विशेषज्ञों ने घटनास्थल से सबूत इकट्ठा किए हैं।
