US Waives Sanctions on Russian Crude Imports For India
The Hindu - Business · business
India is set to continue importing Russian crude oil at current levels following a waiver of new sanctions and tariffs by U.S. President Donald Trump. The waiver, issued via executive order, exempts major buyers of Russian oil from a new law that authorized up to 100% tariffs. India is the largest importer of Russian seaborne crude, averaging 1.8 million barrels per day this year. This decision allows Indian refiners to maintain access to discounted Russian oil, which became a significant part of India's energy imports after the Ukraine invasion.
