Mikaela Shiffrin's fiancé, Norwegian skier Aleksander Aamodt Kilde, has torn his Achilles tendon in a downhill training crash in Chile on October 14. This latest injury comes after nearly two years of recovery from a severe crash in January 2024 that involved multiple surgeries and a serious infection. Kilde was preparing for the 2026/27 alpine skiing World Cup season, which was set to begin on October 24. His participation is now uncertain as he travels to Austria for further medical assessment and treatment discussions.
