Ankita Bhandari Case Parents Detained During India Gate Protest

Parents of Ankita Bhandari were taken into police custody early morning while protesting at India Gate, demanding justice for their daughter. They requested a halt to BJP leader Dushyant Kumar Gautam's appointment as Sikkim Governor until a CBI investigation is complete. The Uttarakhand Ankita Bhandari murder case has resurfaced following this incident. Ankita, a receptionist at a Rishikesh resort, was found dead in a canal in September 2022. Three individuals, including the resort owner, were convicted in May 2025.

अंकिता भंडारी के माता-पिता को इंडिया गेट पर विरोध प्रदर्शन करते समय सुबह पुलिस ने हिरासत में ले लिया। उन्होंने मांग की कि CBI जांच पूरी होने तक BJP नेता दुष्यंत कुमार गौतम की सिक्किम के राज्यपाल के पद पर नियुक्ति रोकी जाए। उत्तराखंड की अंकिता भंडारी हत्या का मामला इस घटना के बाद फिर से सामने आया है। ऋषिकेश के एक रिसॉर्ट में रिसेप्शनिस्ट अंकिता का शव सितंबर 2022 में एक नहर में मिला था। मई 2025 में रिसॉर्ट मालिक सहित तीन लोगों को दोषी ठहराया गया था।
