Israel to Close West Bank Crossings for Election Day Amid Security Concerns

Israel will close all land crossings between Israel and the occupied West Bank on election day, October 27. The Israel Defense Forces announced that Palestinians will be prohibited from entering Israeli communities for work. This decision follows a deadly attack near Hebron where two Israeli soldiers were killed. The military has been conducting operations in the West Bank, apprehending suspects and demolishing Palestinian buildings. Approximately 2,200 Palestinians have been displaced from their homes during these raids.
