Kerala's Leader of the Opposition, Pinarayi Vijayan, has raised concerns regarding the distribution of drugs for SMA patients, alleging that "experimental drugs" meant for clinical trials were being given out. He stated that parents reported the medicines were marked "Physician Sample" and "For Clinical Trials Only," calling it a violation of norms. However, SAT Hospital authorities have refuted these claims, clarifying that only drugs approved by the Central Drugs Standards Control Organisation (CDSCO) are being distributed.
