Supreme Court Orders EC Decision on TMC Name

The Supreme Court has directed the Election Commission to decide the dispute between rival factions of the All India Trinamool Congress over the party's name and symbol. The court asked both factions to complete their pleadings before the poll panel within four weeks. The EC must then make a decision within three months. This order came while hearing a plea by former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee against the EC's decision to freeze the party's name and symbol.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने चुनाव आयोग को टीएमसी के नाम पर फैसला लेने का आदेश दिया

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने चुनाव आयोग को ऑल इंडिया तृणमूल कांग्रेस के गुटों के बीच पार्टी के नाम और चुनाव चिन्ह को लेकर चल रहे विवाद पर फैसला लेने का निर्देश दिया है। कोर्ट ने दोनों गुटों से कहा कि वे चार हफ्तों के अंदर चुनाव आयोग के सामने अपनी दलीलें पूरी करें। इसके बाद आयोग को तीन महीनों के अंदर फैसला लेना होगा। यह आदेश पूर्व पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी की उस याचिका पर आया है जिसमें उन्होंने पार्टी का नाम और चुनाव चिन्ह फ्रीज करने के चुनाव आयोग के फैसले को चुनौती दी थी।
