Virginia Soldier Becomes 19th US Death

Captain Bianca C. Wilkerson, 37, of Norfolk, Virginia, has been identified as the 19th U.S. service member to die while deployed in support of the war with Iran. Wilkerson died on September 18 from a non-combat-related incident while flying to the Middle East. She was assigned to Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., and supporting overseas operations in Doha, Qatar. A defense official stated she was posthumously promoted to major.
