CPI(M) Kozhikode district secretary M. Mehboob stated that the party has not concluded all minority voters abandoned them in the recent Assembly elections. He acknowledged that some voters who previously supported the Left might have voted against the party due to misleading campaigns by rivals. Mehboob specifically mentioned the Jamaat-e-Islami Hind and Indian Union Muslim League's role in campaigning against the LDF, particularly in Kozhikode. He also criticized the use of special investigation teams against the LDF, drawing parallels to central government actions against opposition parties.

सीपीआई(एम) के कोझिकोड जिला सचिव एम. महबूब ने कहा कि पार्टी ने यह निष्कर्ष नहीं निकाला है कि हाल के विधानसभा चुनावों में सभी अल्पसंख्यक मतदाताओं ने उन्हें छोड़ दिया है। उन्होंने स्वीकार किया कि कुछ ऐसे मतदाता जिन्होंने पहले वाम दलों का समर्थन किया था, वे विरोधियों द्वारा चलाए गए भ्रामक अभियानों के कारण पार्टी के खिलाफ वोट कर सकते हैं। महबूब ने विशेष रूप से जमात-ए-इस्लामी हिंद और इंडियन यूनियन मुस्लिम लीग की एलडीएफ के खिलाफ, खासकर कोझिकोड में, अभियान चलाने की भूमिका का उल्लेख किया। उन्होंने एलडीएफ के खिलाफ विशेष जांच टीमों के इस्तेमाल की भी आलोचना की, जिसकी तुलना केंद्र सरकार द्वारा विपक्षी दलों के खिलाफ की गई कार्रवाई से की।
