NMC Clarifies Medical Education Standards Unchanged After Regulation Denotification

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has clarified that denotifying the Maintenance of Standards of Medical Education Regulations, 2023, will not dilute prescribed medical education standards. The move aims to eliminate overlapping regulatory procedures and align responsibilities with the NMC Act, 2019. While the annual renewal requirement under the denotified regulations is removed, medical colleges must still submit mandatory annual disclosure reports. These reports remain subject to scrutiny and verification through the NMC's assessment and inspection mechanisms, ensuring continued oversight of faculty, infrastructure, and academic standards.

नेशनल मेडिकल कमीशन (एनएमसी) ने स्पष्ट किया है कि मेंटेनेंस ऑफ स्टैंडर्ड्स ऑफ मेडिकल एजुकेशन रेगुलेशंस, 2023 को अधिसूचित न करने से मेडिकल शिक्षा के निर्धारित मानकों में कोई कमी नहीं आएगी। इस कदम का उद्देश्य नियामक प्रक्रियाओं के दोहराव को खत्म करना और जिम्मेदारियों को एनएमसी एक्ट, 2019 के साथ संरेखित करना है। हालांकि अधिसूचित न किए गए नियमों के तहत वार्षिक नवीनीकरण की आवश्यकता को हटा दिया गया है, फिर भी मेडिकल कॉलेजों को अनिवार्य वार्षिक प्रकटीकरण रिपोर्ट जमा करनी होगी। ये रिपोर्टें फैकल्टी, इंफ्रास्ट्रक्चर और अकादमिक मानकों की निरंतर निगरानी सुनिश्चित करते हुए, एनएमसी की मूल्यांकन और निरीक्षण तंत्र के माध्यम से जांच और सत्यापन के अधीन रहेंगी।
