Oil Prices Surge Over 2% Amid Deepening Iran-US Tensions and Falling Inventories
Hindustan Times · business
Oil prices jumped by more than $2 a barrel on Wednesday, with Brent crude nearing a five-month high and US West Texas Intermediate also seeing significant gains. This surge is attributed to escalating tensions between Iran and the United States, coupled with a notable decrease in US crude oil and fuel inventories. Concerns over oil supplies are heightened by recent attacks on vessels, including those targeting tankers beyond the Strait of Hormuz and Houthi attacks on Saudi oil sites.
