Velagaleru Regulator Receives Heavy Inflows After Cyclone Murasu

The Velagaleru regulator on the Budameru rivulet experienced significant inflows of 5,500 cusecs on Wednesday, following heavy rainfall in the NTR district due to cyclonic storm Murasu. While inflows later decreased to 4,174 cusecs, all water was diverted to the Krishna River via the Budameru Diversion Canal, with none released into the Budameru course flowing through Vijayawada. The regulator, with a 15,000 cusecs capacity, had initially been expected to receive up to 20,000 cusecs.

चक्रवाती तूफान मुरसु के कारण NTR जिले में भारी बारिश के बाद बुधवार को बुडमेरु नदी पर बने वेलागेरू रेगुलेटर में 5,500 क्यूसेक की भारी आवक हुई। बाद में आवक घटकर 4,174 क्यूसेक हो गई, लेकिन सारा पानी बुडमेरु डायवर्जन कैनाल के ज़रिए कृष्णा नदी में मोड़ दिया गया, और विजयवाड़ा से बहने वाले बुडमेरु के रास्ते में कोई पानी नहीं छोड़ा गया। 15,000 क्यूसेक की क्षमता वाले इस रेगुलेटर से शुरू में 20,000 क्यूसेक तक आवक की उम्मीद थी।
