The 1955 Bandung Conference, which fostered South-South cooperation and challenged global inequality, is regaining relevance amid current geopolitical and geoeconomic conflicts. Twenty-nine Asian and African nations met to establish a framework based on sovereignty and cooperation, aiming for an international order independent of major powers. Despite facing pushback, the conference's spirit of solidarity laid groundwork for movements like the Non-Aligned Movement. Seventy-one years later, global wealth inequality persists, with Global North countries controlling a disproportionate amount of wealth.
