Hindustan Times · environment

Overnight rainfall has significantly improved Delhi's air quality, bringing it into the 'satisfactory' category with an AQI of 88. The minimum temperature also dropped by 5.7 degrees Celsius to 18.7 degrees Celsius at Safdarjung station, making it 2.3 degrees below normal. While the rain provided relief from warm conditions and cleared pollutants, it caused waterlogging in several areas, including the Mahipalpur flyover and Zakhira underpass, impacting morning commutes. The India Meteorological Department had issued a red alert for thunderstorms and heavy rain, which has since been downgraded.
