Indoor Pollution Alert: Kitchen Fumes Can Harm Health, Doctors Advise Precautions
TV9 Hindi · health
While outdoor air pollution is widely discussed, indoor air quality, especially in kitchens, poses a significant health risk. Burning LPG gas releases harmful nitrogen dioxide and potentially carbon monoxide, while cooking processes emit fine particles. In poorly ventilated kitchens, these pollutants can accumulate, leading to respiratory issues like coughing, eye irritation, and breathing difficulties. Dr. Priyanka Bindru advises opening windows, using exhaust fans, ensuring proper gas stove function, and avoiding burnt food to mitigate these risks. Maintaining good indoor air quality is crucial for overall well-being.
