Gautam Gambhir Calls For Even Contest Between Bat and Ball

Times of India · sports

India head coach Gautam Gambhir expressed concern over the imbalance between bat and ball following the team's six-wicket loss to West Indies in the second T20I. Despite 501 runs being scored, Roston Chase's economical bowling was highlighted as crucial for West Indies' victory. Gambhir emphasized that bowlers' careers are also at stake and an even contest would lead to better cricket. He defended promoting Shivam Dube to number four, stating it's a long-term strategy, though Dube scored only seven runs.
