Pentagon CTO Emil Michael has revealed that the United States was unprepared for modern drone warfare, admitting Ukraine had to develop crucial battlefield technologies itself because the US lacked them. Speaking at the WSJ Tech Conference, Michael stated the conflict exposed significant gaps in American military preparedness. While the US provided substantial aid, Ukrainian forces often innovated independently. The US has since dramatically increased its drone production, though Ukraine's estimated output remains vastly higher.
