IT Ministry Forms Special Team To Probe eMudhra Security Incident

The IT Ministry has taken serious note of the eMudhra incident and formed a special team to investigate. The ministry stated that the security incident primarily affects eMudhra’s global certificate business, with a very limited impact on Indian websites. Some social media accounts were reportedly spreading fear about the consequences. The incident involved eight intermediate certificates whose private keys were compromised, leading major browsers to block them. CERT-In noted that public disclosures have not confirmed any malicious exploitation of these keys.

IT मंत्रालय ने eMudhra घटना को गंभीरता से लिया है और जांच के लिए एक विशेष टीम बनाई है। मंत्रालय ने कहा कि सुरक्षा घटना का मुख्य रूप से eMudhra के वैश्विक प्रमाणपत्र व्यवसाय पर असर पड़ा है, भारतीय वेबसाइटों पर इसका बहुत सीमित प्रभाव है। कुछ सोशल मीडिया खातों पर इसके परिणामों के बारे में डर फैलाने की खबर थी। इस घटना में आठ मध्यवर्ती प्रमाणपत्र शामिल थे जिनकी प्राइवेट की से छेड़छाड़ हुई थी, जिसके कारण प्रमुख ब्राउज़रों ने उन्हें ब्लॉक कर दिया। CERT-In ने बताया कि सार्वजनिक खुलासों से इन कीज़ के किसी भी दुर्भावनापूर्ण उपयोग की पुष्टि नहीं हुई है।
