BJP MLA, Minister Spar Over Rising Dengue Cases In Kolkata

BJP MLA Ritesh Tiwari criticized civic services in Kolkata, comparing them unfavorably to previous administrations and questioning the effectiveness of photoshoots and press conferences in controlling dengue. He also alleged that municipal officials ignored Minister Agnimitra Paul during a dengue awareness rally. Minister Paul responded by stating she visited the area based on information from KMC officials about it being the worst-affected. Meanwhile, state health minister Sharadwat Mukherjee noted that a death audit is needed to confirm if recent fatalities were dengue-related, adding that the state remains on yellow alert.

बीजेपी विधायक रितेश तिवारी ने कोलकाता की नागरिक सेवाओं की आलोचना की, उनकी तुलना पिछली प्रशासनों से की और डेंगू को नियंत्रित करने में फोटो-शूट और प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस की प्रभावशीलता पर सवाल उठाया। उन्होंने यह भी आरोप लगाया कि डेंगू जागरूकता रैली के दौरान नगर निगम के अधिकारियों ने मंत्री अग्निमित्रा पॉल को नजरअंदाज किया। मंत्री पॉल ने जवाब दिया कि वह केएमसी अधिकारियों से जानकारी मिलने पर उस इलाके का दौरा किया था क्योंकि वह सबसे ज्यादा प्रभावित था। इस बीच, राज्य के स्वास्थ्य मंत्री शरदवत मुखर्जी ने कहा कि हाल की मौतों के डेंगू से संबंधित होने की पुष्टि के लिए मृत्यु ऑडिट की आवश्यकता है, और कहा कि राज्य अभी भी येलो अलर्ट पर है।
