Women Plant 1 Lakh Mangroves in Sundarbans

In the Sundarbans, women known as 'tiger widows' are planting one lakh mangrove saplings across 100 hectares. These women lost husbands to tiger attacks, with 67 deaths reported between 2016 and 2020. Their restoration efforts aim to protect coastal villages from cyclones, support wildlife habitats, and rebuild the landscape that sustains local livelihoods, demonstrating resilience and a commitment to conservation.

सुंदरबन में 'टाइगर विडोज़' के नाम से जानी जाने वाली महिलाएं 100 हेक्टेयर में एक लाख मैंग्रोव के पौधे लगा रही हैं। इन महिलाओं के पति बाघ के हमलों में मारे गए थे, 2016 से 2020 के बीच 67 मौतें हुईं। उनके ये प्रयास तटीय गांवों को चक्रवातों से बचाने, वन्यजीवों के आवासों को सहारा देने और स्थानीय आजीविका को बनाए रखने वाले परिदृश्य को फिर से बनाने के लिए हैं। यह उनकी हिम्मत और संरक्षण के प्रति समर्पण को दिखाता है।
