The Kerala government has ordered the suspension of toll collection on National Highway 66 at Nattika in Thrissur. This decision was made due to concerns about severe traffic congestion, as significant construction work on the Kodungallur-Kaprikkad stretch remains incomplete. The suspension follows reports from the District Collector and police highlighting potential disruptions and inconvenience to commuters. Public Works Minister P.K. Basheer assured that toll collection will only commence after all pending road works are finished and smooth traffic flow is ensured.

केरल सरकार ने त्रिशूर के नत्तिका में नेशनल हाईवे 66 पर टोल वसूली पर रोक लगाने का आदेश दिया है। यह फैसला कोडुंगल्लूर-कप्रिक्कड़ हिस्से पर बड़े पैमाने पर निर्माण कार्य अधूरा रहने के कारण गंभीर ट्रैफिक जाम की चिंताओं को देखते हुए लिया गया है। जिला कलेक्टर और पुलिस की रिपोर्टों में यात्रियों को होने वाली संभावित परेशानी और असुविधा को उजागर करने के बाद यह रोक लगाई गई है। लोक निर्माण मंत्री पी.के. बशीर ने आश्वासन दिया है कि सभी लंबित सड़क कार्यों के पूरा होने और यातायात के सुचारू प्रवाह सुनिश्चित होने के बाद ही टोल वसूली शुरू की जाएगी।
