Eight Women Allege Being Declared Dead; Seek Criminal Case Against MLA Yatnal

Eight Muslim women from Vijayapura have alleged they were wrongly declared deceased in documents submitted to the Election Commission of India. They demanded a criminal case against MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal and others responsible for submitting alleged bogus death certificates. The women, supported by the organisation Jagrutha Karnataka, displayed documents they claim were used to falsely mark them as dead. They fear losing ration cards and government benefits, and allege an attempt to disenfranchise them due to their religion.

विजयपुरा की आठ मुस्लिम महिलाओं ने आरोप लगाया है कि उन्हें चुनाव आयोग को सौंपे गए दस्तावेजों में गलती से मृत घोषित कर दिया गया था। उन्होंने कथित फर्जी मृत्यु प्रमाण पत्र जमा करने के लिए जिम्मेदार विधायक बसनागौडा पाटिल यत्नल और अन्य के खिलाफ आपराधिक मामला दर्ज करने की मांग की है। जागृत कर्नाटक संगठन के समर्थन से महिलाओं ने वे दस्तावेज दिखाए जो उनके अनुसार उन्हें झूठा मृत बताने के लिए इस्तेमाल किए गए थे। उन्हें राशन कार्ड और सरकारी लाभ खोने का डर है, और उन्होंने अपने धर्म के कारण उन्हें मताधिकार से वंचित करने का प्रयास करने का आरोप लगाया है।
