Paddy Prices Bring Relief To Farmers In Drought-Hit Yadgir District

Despite a severe rainfall deficit devastating rain-fed crops in Yadgir district this kharif season, remunerative prices for paddy have offered relief to farmers in irrigated areas. While cotton crops suffered extensive damage, paddy growers who irrigated their fields using river water harvested around 40 bags per acre. Each 77-kg bag is fetching between ₹3,000 and ₹3,100, with wholesale traders directly procuring from farms. Although farmers incurred significant expenses, the favourable prices provide a crucial cushion against the failure of other crops.

इस खरीफ मौसम में यादगीर जिले में बारिश की भारी कमी के कारण वर्षा-सिंचित फसलों को भारी नुकसान हुआ है, लेकिन सिंचित क्षेत्रों के किसानों को धान की अच्छी कीमतों से राहत मिली है। जहाँ कपास की फसलों को भारी नुकसान हुआ, वहीं नदी के पानी से अपने खेतों की सिंचाई करने वाले धान उत्पादकों ने प्रति एकड़ लगभग 40 बोरी की फसल काटी। प्रत्येक 77-किलो की बोरी ₹3,000 से ₹3,100 के बीच बिक रही है, और थोक व्यापारी सीधे खेतों से खरीद रहे हैं। हालाँकि किसानों को काफी खर्च उठाना पड़ा, लेकिन अनुकूल कीमतों ने अन्य फसलों की विफलता के खिलाफ एक महत्वपूर्ण सहारा प्रदान किया है।
