Kerala Health Minister K. Muraleedharan announced that the government will take action following an expert committee's report on allegations of expired Remdesivir doses being administered to Nipah patients. He stated that Remdesivir procured in 2021, with an expiry date of May 2023, might have been given to patients until 2025. While a critical care specialist claimed Nipah victims did not receive Remdesivir, the minister emphasized the investigation will focus on whether expired drugs were used and their impact. The probe will also examine procurement processes and the role of intermediaries.
