Alzheimer's cases in India could be up to five times higher than reported, with experts estimating 8.8 million to 10 million dementia patients, nearly 70% of whom have Alzheimer's. Many cases go unreported, especially in rural areas. As India's population ages, the risk of Alzheimer's increases significantly. Doctors emphasize prevention through daily exercise, adequate sleep, and mental/social engagement. Early detection is also improving with blood tests and PET scans.

भारत में अल्ज़ाइमर के मरीज़ों की संख्या बताई गई संख्या से पाँच गुना ज़्यादा हो सकती है। अनुमान है कि देश में 88 लाख से 1 करोड़ लोग डिमेंशिया से पीड़ित हैं, जिनमें से लगभग 70% अल्ज़ाइमर के मरीज़ हैं। खासकर गाँवों में कई मामले सामने नहीं आ पाते। बढ़ती उम्र के साथ अल्ज़ाइमर का खतरा बढ़ जाता है। डॉक्टर रोज़ाना कसरत, अच्छी नींद और दिमागी/सामाजिक गतिविधियों से बचाव की सलाह देते हैं।
