US researchers have developed an AI tool, 'FaceSurvival', that can estimate a patient's remaining lifespan by analyzing a single photograph of their face. Trained on millions of healthy faces and 35,000 cancer patient images, the AI focuses on the area around the eyes and between them to make its predictions. While still in early stages and not yet ready for hospital use, the tool aims to assist doctors in selecting appropriate treatments by assessing a patient's physical condition and resilience.
