Indian banks reported double-digit net profit growth in the July-September quarter, driven by core income despite subdued treasury earnings due to bond yield increases. Indian Bank's net profit rose 14.7% to Rs 3462 crore, while UCO Bank saw a 27% increase to Rs 786 crore, boosted by strong loan growth. South Indian Bank and Karur Vysya Bank also posted significant profit rises. Despite mark-to-market losses, banks are building buffers for future credit loss frameworks.
