Indian IT stocks saw a market value increase of ₹25,029 crore on Wednesday, nearly offsetting the pharmaceutical sector's losses. This shift occurred as the broader Nifty index declined by 0.4 per cent, primarily due to selling in financial stocks. The Nifty IT index rose 1.14 per cent, while the Nifty Pharma index fell 1.3 per cent amid regulatory uncertainty over medicine pricing. Analysts remain divided on the sustainability of the IT rally, with some noting mutual fund buying at current valuations.
