A photograph taken in June 2023 of 15 teenage girls and their math teacher, Maha Taha, in Gaza now serves as a stark reminder of lives irrevocably altered by conflict. The girls, then aged 17 and 18, were smiling and looking forward to their futures. However, since the October 7 events, one girl has been killed, four have left Gaza, and others have been displaced, their education and future plans disrupted.
