Kolkata Durga Puja Stampede Kills 19; CM Announces Jobs, Rs 25 Lakh Aid

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced Rs 25 lakh compensation and government jobs for families of each of the 19 victims who died in a stampede at a Durga Puja pandal in north Kolkata. The state will also cover medical expenses for the injured, providing Rs 5 lakh to each. A fact-finding committee, including STF and forensic teams, will investigate the incident and identify those responsible for crowd management failures. CCTV footage is being examined, and action will be taken against anyone found negligent, regardless of their position.

पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री सुवेंदु अधिकारी ने उत्तर कोलकाता के एक दुर्गा पूजा पंडाल में भगदड़ में मरने वाले 19 पीड़ितों के परिवारों को 25 लाख रुपये का मुआवजा और सरकारी नौकरी देने की घोषणा की। राज्य घायलों के इलाज का खर्च भी उठाएगा और प्रत्येक को 5 लाख रुपये देगा। एसटीएफ और फोरेंसिक टीमों सहित एक तथ्य-खोज समिति घटना की जांच करेगी और भीड़ प्रबंधन में विफलता के लिए जिम्मेदार लोगों की पहचान करेगी। सीसीटीवी फुटेज की जांच की जा रही है, और किसी भी लापरवाही के लिए जिम्मेदार पाए जाने वाले किसी भी व्यक्ति के खिलाफ कार्रवाई की जाएगी, चाहे उसका पद कुछ भी हो।
