Karnataka Drought May Affect Over 200 Taluks

Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister G. Parameshwara stated that over 200 taluks in the state are likely to be declared drought-affected. Currently, 124 taluks are already drought-affected, with an additional 52 expected to be added in the coming days. The government is reviewing the situation until the monsoon ends. Crop losses are estimated at ₹18,000 crore, and the state is seeking ₹3,500 crore in compensation from the Centre.
