Goa's forest department successfully rescued two Indian pangolins from human habitation areas in Pernem and Collem. The wildlife rescue squads found the nocturnal mammals moving near residential areas, posing a risk to them. Both pangolins were found to be uninjured and were promptly released back into their natural habitat in the Mhadei forest. Officials noted that the species does not adapt well to captivity, making immediate release the best course of action. This highlights ongoing efforts to protect vulnerable wildlife from human-wildlife conflict.
