Pune Man Loses ₹10 Lakh To Fake RTO Challan Scam Via Malicious App

A 45-year-old man in Pune has lost ₹10 lakh to a sophisticated RTO challan scam. He received a message about pending traffic dues, which contained a malicious link. Clicking the link led him to download a fake RTO app via an APK file. Once installed, the app granted scammers access to his phone, enabling them to initiate three transactions and drain ₹10 lakh from his bank account within minutes. Bhosari MIDC police have registered a case and are investigating the transactions.

पुणे में 45 साल के एक व्यक्ति को एक चालाकी भरे आरटीओ चालान स्कैम में ₹10 लाख का चूना लग गया। उन्हें लंबित ट्रैफिक बकाया के बारे में एक मैसेज मिला, जिसमें एक मैलिशियस लिंक था। लिंक पर क्लिक करने से वह एपीके फाइल के जरिए एक फर्जी आरटीओ ऐप डाउनलोड करने लगे। इंस्टॉल होने के बाद, ऐप ने स्कैमर्स को उनके फोन तक पहुंच दे दी, जिससे वे कुछ ही मिनटों में तीन ट्रांजेक्शन शुरू कर सके और उनके बैंक खाते से ₹10 लाख निकाल लिए। भोसरी एमआईडीसी पुलिस ने मामला दर्ज कर लिया है और ट्रांजेक्शन की जांच कर रही है।
