The United Nations has voted to adopt a new world map projection, altering the traditional Mercator projection. This change will make continents like Africa, Latin America, South Asia, and Oceania appear larger. The Mercator projection, widely used for centuries, distorts the size of landmasses, making countries near the equator appear smaller than they are.
