Apple's Secret Word List Blocks PM Modi, Trump & Biden From Autocomplete

Times of India · technology

A researcher has uncovered a secret list of tens of thousands of words and phrases that Apple's iOS keyboard avoids suggesting through autocomplete and swipe-typing. While many terms are vulgar or related to drugs, the list also includes politically sensitive phrases like "dictator Trump" and "sleepy Joe." In Hindi, references to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi are blocked. The researcher described this as a "very light-touch form of censorship" that can have a significant impact due to Apple's vast user base.
