Shillong Lawyers Protest, Demand Advocate General's Removal

Lawyers in Shillong have organized a protest march, demanding the removal of Advocate General Amit Kumar. This action follows a resolution passed by the Meghalaya High Court Bar Association and the Shillong Bar Association earlier this month. The bar bodies are calling for Kumar's dismissal after he stated that they have failed to adequately protect women lawyers.

शिलांग में वकीलों ने एडवोकेट जनरल अमित कुमार को हटाने की मांग को लेकर विरोध प्रदर्शन किया है। यह कदम इस महीने की शुरुआत में मेघालय हाई कोर्ट बार एसोसिएशन और शिलांग बार एसोसिएशन द्वारा पारित प्रस्ताव के बाद उठाया गया है। बार एसोसिएशनों ने कुमार को बर्खास्त करने की मांग की है, क्योंकि उन्होंने कहा था कि वे महिला वकीलों की पर्याप्त सुरक्षा करने में विफल रहे हैं।
