A Special Investigation Team in Thiruvananthapuram has intensified its probe into the alleged sexual exploitation of a 16-year-old girl at a Kovalam spa. The survivor, from Andhra Pradesh, was reportedly trafficked by her maternal aunt and aunt's husband, who have been arrested. The investigation expanded with the arrest of Anuroop, a junior health inspector, who allegedly operated the spa as a 'benami'. Financial transactions linked Anuroop to the spa, which was leased to him by its owner. The case has expanded to include potential abuse in Chennai.
