War Hero Jaswant Singh Rawat's Home Becomes Museum

The ancestral home of Rifleman Jaswant Singh Rawat, a hero of the 1962 war, will be developed into a modern museum in his native Baryun village, Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand. BJP MP Anil Baluni announced the initiative and will perform the 'bhoomi pujan'. Rawat, who received the Mahavir Chakra, displayed immense bravery against Chinese troops at Nuranang. A memorial already exists in Arunachal Pradesh, but this museum aims to further cement his legacy in his home state, which has a strong tradition of military service.
