Indian Captain Smit Machchhar has revealed chilling details of the flydubai cockpit attack on flight FZ1073. His Omani co-pilot, Hamam al-Hammami, used prayer as a pretext to strike Machchhar from behind with an axe. Machchhar managed to open the cockpit door twice, eventually allowing passengers to overpower the attacker. The incident occurred on September 30 with 174 people aboard, mostly Israelis. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has lauded Machchhar as a hero.
