The Supreme Court has criticized the Kerala government for not detailing steps taken to protect Uttoly Raman, the state's tallest captive elephant. The court questioned why the government had not disclosed the elephant's transfer to state custody since the June 9 order. Authorities were directed to produce Raman's latest medical examination report by October 12. The bench expressed displeasure over the state's explanation, citing elections as a reason for delay, and accused the caretaker of commercial exploitation.
